Facebook Messenger will accept payments with PayPal in the US
Facebook continues with its bet in the segment of the mobile payments. The social network has announced its alliance with PayPal, which will allow users of the instant messaging application to receive and send money through PayPal.

The service, currently available only in the United States and for iOS devices, can now be used for peer-to-peer (P2P) money transfers without leaving the application and marking the collaboration between companies after allowing them to synchronize accounts to buy from Messenger.

The new tool will be distributed progressively from this Friday, October 20 for users in the United States, where they can access the option to pay from PayPal in the blue symbol of 'More'.

On the other hand, the alliance has led to the launch of a PayPal customer service bot on Facebook Messenger that "enables people to have meaningful interactions with customer service, such as resetting passwords, handling account inquiries and helping with refunds or payment problems, "PayPal said in a statement.

This announcement joins the upcoming release of Apple Pay Cash in iMessage, with which you can send and receive money through Apple's instant messaging service. As with PayPal, users must link their credit or debit cards and, once they have received the money, they can send it to their account or leave it in the purse for online purchases. This new tool is an extension of Apple Pay that was launched for the first time in 2014.

Apple Pay Cash will be available in the United States later this year and, once it has been launched, competition and the fight for US customers between PayPal and Apple's new service for peer to peer money transfers could begin.
