Xiaomi has arrived in Spain ... and there are reasons to think that it will devastate

With little noise outside the enthusiastic environment of technology, Xiaomi has done what seemed impossible: enter the European market with all the law (pun intended) and many of its flagship products, own shop included.

Until now, the arrival of Xiaomi, was a chimera for the ironclad European regulations in the matter of intellectual property. After all, they have always displayed a lax morality in terms of taking ideas from here (Apple) and over there (Samsung) for their smartphones. However, the recent direction taken by its terminals, far from the copies of yesteryear, have allowed the disembarkation.

The start-up takes place with two stores in Madrid and one in Barcelona. And at the moment they arrive with two phones: the Mi A1 and the Mi Mix 2, medium and high range respectively, as an exit shot for Xiaomi in Spain.

The Mi A1 has a 5.5-inch Full HD screen, Snapdragon 625, 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage, dual 12 megapixel rear camera, 3080 mAh battery with fast charge and finger reader. All for 229 euros.

The Mi Mix 2 has 6-inch screen 2160 x 1080 pixels, Snapdragon 835, 6 GB of RAM, storage of 64/128/256 GB, 12 megapixel camera, 3,400 mAh battery with fast charge, USB-C and finger reader , in addition to a design where the screen occupies almost the entire front. All for 499 euros.

What do these terminals offer in the end? A very solvent performance, more than acceptable designs, an excellent sheet of characteristics (we say "sheet" because in the day to day it does not always work so well what on paper seems optimal, but it is what sells in Spain) and very content Simply what our country has been demanding for years.

Here the share of Apple is low compared to France, Germany or the United Kingdom because the per capita income is what it is. Android fits perfectly in the vast majority of the population, willing to exercise a moderate expenditure on your phone and avid specifications that look good in the photo, mean what they mean for day to day.

So far, Xiaomi had achieved an interesting presence in Spain despite selling only online, or through distributors who could not provide the usual two-year guarantee in our country. That is, without being in large areas, or sold with warranty, or be in the catalog of operators.

Now they come through official and recognizable physical stores, where they can buy them without having to go around online stores, with the guarantee of two years that the law marks under the arm and keeping very interesting prices. Quite possibly they will devastate and wreak havoc on the balance of more than one manufacturer based in the country. Definitely, Spain is a country for Xiaomi.
