The instant messaging company belonging to Facebook has published in its web section of "questions and answers" a section dedicated to "compatibility with old mobile phones", and in it you can see the dates where certain models will stop working.
In the case that concerns us, as of December 31, WhatsApp will stop working in the following models of mobile phones or operating systems:
1. BlackBerry and BlackBerry 10 Operating System
2. Windows Phone 8.0 and earlier
To give you an idea that this really is not so serious, a bit of context is enough about the date of creation or development of the affected operating and mobile systems: they are, in reality, very old and minority.
In the case of the BlackBerry Operating System, its latest developed version is 7.1, and one of the main devices where it worked was the famous Blackberry Bold, whose terminals were presented from 2008 to 2011 with its different versions.
In the case of BlackBerry 10, it was the continuation of the previous Blackberry operating system, already focused on smart devices. Its presentation dates from January 30, 2013, and has now been replaced by Android, so it is neither updated nor patched with more security.
Finally, Windows Phone 8.0: was presented in society on September 14, 2012, being the second generation of the operating system for Windows Phone. Microsoft recently announced that it would stop working with its Windows Phone idea, so it makes all the sense in the world that WhatsApp also stops working in those terminals progressively.
