Saudi Arabia has apparently proposed the goal of creating a science fiction city called "Neom". To create it, they are raising funds from investors in order to reach 500,000 million dollars.
This city of the future will be a venture that will aim to use and show the world how to live in the post-oil era, betting 100% on renewable and green energy that does not pollute the planet.
Perhaps because they are one of the largest oil exporters in the world, they will have a hunch, or they will be directly seeing that oil has few decades left and that sooner or later they will have to use renewable energy.
Neom comes from "Neo-Mostaqbal", which literally means "new future".
According to the Saudi prince Mohhamed bin Salman, who recently presented the project, Neom will not be the radical thought that has always characterized these regions of the Middle East, will leave behind the ancient thought of extreme Islam, leading to the integration of all the religions of the world.
Where would it be located?
The project would be located between Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Jordan, occupying a total of almost 27 thousand square kilometers.
Today, this area is a desert full of mountains, however in the advertising video that we have seen previously, it is intended to completely transform it with green pastures, lakes, an intelligent and green city powered by solar and wind energy, something that abounds in these deserts.
The city will be under the regime of Saudi Arabia, but it will have independence from laws in order to attract people to inhabit it, but especially at the beginning to attract investors, who are the ones who can make this technological dream come true .
Robots are the ones who will do the hard work, leaving humans as light and administrative, thus giving rise to the already imminent active integration of artificial intelligence in human societies.
The food will be harvested in vertical gardens and farms, to maximize the use of solar resources and especially at the level of water use, a resource that is not abundant in these places so desert.
And if you like flying cars, Neom will also make a place for them because they will be the great bet of the future transport in this technological city.
At the level of fun, there will be Internet for everyone with very high speed connections, as well as amusement parks, shopping malls, cinemas and hundreds of ways to recreate our senses.
Hopefully they can get the 500,000 million dollars to make this futuristic city a reality. The date to finish the first stage of the city so that it begins to be habitable will be in 2025, and it is expected that by 2030 it will be 100% completed.
